Grinder School

GrinderSchool was designed to help the new or struggling low-limit poker player improve their play: After all, you have to crawl before you can walk! The site’s main focus is low-limit No Limit Hold’ Em (NLHE) games –cash, Sit & Go tournaments, and Multi-Table Tournaments—and is priced to accommodate these particular players (about 1/3 the price of the mid to high stakes training sites).

The main areas for players to learn are the video, article, and forum sections. With over 300 streaming video, also available for download (no set schedule for release), and plenty of reading material, GrinderSchool keeps their new members busy pouring over content.

Strengths

The #1 strength of GrinderSchool is that it knows its target audience: low-limit grinders. The concepts and strategies are geared toward beating low-limit games, and the price of a membership allows the low-limit grinders of the world to easily afford a subscription without decimating their bankroll.

GrinderSchool knows what it does, and does it well: The instructors do an excellent job of covering all aspects of low-limit No Limit Hold’ Em games. The main instructors for GrinderSchool are not as well known as some other training sites, since they are low-limit grinders themselves:

You can find these players grinding it out on all the sites: Full Tilt, PokerStars, Cake Poker, and more. In fact, if you are a low-limit grinder you have probably come across some of these players at the tables!

Weaknesses

The most glaring hole at GrinderSchool is the lack of content dealing with other forms of poker (Omaha, Limit Hold’ Em, Stud): The site is almost entirely devoted to NLHE in all its different forms.

Grinder School also has a ceiling for knowledge. Because of their devotion to low stakes games, at some point the customer will ‘outgrow’ the site.

Written Content:
In addition to its video area, GrinderSchool features an articles section on different aspects of poker. Some of the articles are additional thoughts on the strategies they outline in their videos, but some contain points that cannot be expressed in a video, such as bankroll management, thoughts on multi-tabling, and tilt. Like most training sites, GrinderSchool also offers its members exclusive access to their forum and blog section.

Goodies:

Due to the nature of its clientele, GrinderSchool also has a prop player program, which can net players a huge financial gain; and even earn them a free membership to the site.

GrinderSchool also runs a tournament series for its members. The GTS is a series of private freeroll tournaments (usually held at Poker Stars or Full Tilt) where players earn points toward the Player of the Year award. The series culminates in a $10 tournament with money added.

GrinderSchool offers potential customers five free videos to watch on their website.

As mentioned, GrinderSchool is priced specifically for the low-limit player, with three separate options:

• 3 Months: $34.99
• 1 Month: $19.99

Players can use most major credit cards or PayPal to purchase a GrinderSchool membership. Players can also cash in their poker points on Full Tilt to purchase a GrinderSchool membership.

The Verdict: Score: 7/10
Grinder School is a perfect training site for small stakes players, with a pricing structure suitable for players with smaller bankrolls.

Lime Aid PLO

Top Deuces Cracked coach Whitelime has just released a two tabling PLO video. He noted that there was little action for him at mid-stakes so he jumped in to a $25/$50 game and stared recording. It is rare that the pot limit Omaha enthusiasts get to see a high stakes video, but it looks like Deuces Cracked is the place to go for them lately.
