Michael ‘Schneids’ Schneider

If you think Limit Holdem is a dying form of poker, think again. Many of today’s best poker players began their careers as Limit Holdem players, and because of their huge edge in the format have a difficult time finding any action at the high-stakes Limit Holdem tables –not to mention that most people with money to burn prefer the big swings and potential windfalls of No limit.

One such player who still prefers to grind out the Limit Holdem games is Cardrunners coach Michael Schneider, better known as “Schneids”. Schneider is a longtime poker player, and longtime poker coach, and unlike many of his contemporaries who have moved over to No limit Holdem as they have moved up in stakes, Schneider has instead stuck with Limit Holdem, and is considered amongst a handful of the top Limit Holdem players in the world; regularly playing in $100/$200 Limit Holdem games and having played as high as $1,000/$2,000 in his career.

Schneider was born (November 29th 1983) and raised in Egan, Minnesota –a state that for whatever reason seems to be a hotbed of poker talent—and attended the University of Minnesota which he graduated from in 2006 with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. Schneids began playing poker in high school with friends, and after making his first online deposit he gradually progressed up the Limit Holdem ladder at the online poker tables –where he plays under the screen-name “Schneids22”.

In addition to his success at the Limit Holdem tables, Schneider has also cashed in big-time at major tournaments, including winning the $1 million first-prize at the Party Poker Million V. Schneider has won over $1.3 million in tournaments for his career including an impressive 6 cashes at the WSOP –and 1 Final table in 2010.

Small stakes players who have seen the action dry up at No Limit Holdem tables have started to migrate back to the Limit Holdem tables, and this is where players like Schneider who are willing to share their strategies and insights, become very in demand as poker coaches. Along with a host of big name players like Kagome Kagome, Patrik Antonius and other high-stakes Limit Holdem players, Schneider and co. are at the forefront of reclaiming Limit Holdem’s popularity.

As one of Cardrunners original poker coaches –having joined the site in 2007– Schneids has produced 63 videos for Cardrunners up to this point, on a variety of different Limit Holdem topics, and ranging in stakes from $.50/$1 games up to High-Stakes games; recently he has even started producing content for Full Tilt Poker’s Rush Poker tables (Limit of course) a welcome addition for players looking to learn the nuances of the recently introduced poker format. You’ll also find just about every conceivable Limit Holdem format covered in Schneider’s training videos including Heads-Up games, 3-handed games, Full Ring, 6-max, single table sessions and multi-table sessions.
