Wasicka got off to a rocky start in the poker world, blowing through a $5,000 deposit he made from his credit card, which forced him to take a full-time job managing a restaurant for his brother-in-law. Wasicka stuck with the doldrums of the 9-5 job while he honed his online poker skills, and eventually after a year he had found his way in the poker world and was ready to turn to poker full-time.
It took Wasicka a while to control his tilting and bankroll issues, but once he did he has never looked back. Wasicka now uses his personal experiences to help his students overcome their own issues be it strategic or mental problems. Wasicka’s initial struggles and his ability to overcome them gives him a special insight into the struggles of the average player, and makes him one of the best poker minds in the game when it comes to helping struggling players improve their game, not to mention he is one of the most respected poker players in the world in terms of skill.
In addition to his 2nd place finish in the 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event which earned him $6.1 million Wasicka has a number of titles and big cashes on his resume:
- 15th place in the 2006 WPT Championship worth $146,460
