Ryan Daut, known in online poker circles by his eponymous screen-name “Daut44” is another in a long-line of Cardrunners’ success stories; a player who went from being coached by Cardrunners founder Taylor “GreenPlastic” Caby beginning in 2006 and is now one of the most successful poker players in the game, not to mention coming full-circle and becoming a Cardrunners instructor himself!
Daut was one of the original crossovers in the poker world, taking his online success to the live arena back in January of 2007 when he won the World Poker Tour PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (now the PCA is one of the most prestigious tournaments in poker although it is no longer a WPT event) pocketing over $1.5 million in the process. As a side not to the tournament, Daut defeated a then unknown Isaac Haxton to win the title –Haxton of course has gone on to become one of the best poker players in the world in his own right.

Daut would go on to just miss a second WPT final table in 2007, finishing 9th in the Mandalay Bay Poker Championship in March, but once again found himself at a televised WPT final table when he finished 6th in the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamonds Poker Classic in December 2007! In 2007 Daut made two WPT final tables, winning one, and had a total of three top ten finishes.
Primarily an online cash-game player, Daut also had his first big online win in 2011 when he chopped the Sunday Million on PokerStars, despite being a Full Tilt Poker Red Pro thanks to his Cardrunners affiliation.
Ryan Daut was born on April 18, 1984 in New Jersey and briefly attended Penn State University as a Mathematics major before catching the poker bug and leaving school after just a single semester. Daut now lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he spends most of his time grinding the online cash games, posting on his poker blog –one of the better-written and frequently updated blogs out there btw—as well as creating coaching videos for Cardrunners.
Although not as active as he has been in the past when it comes to creating poker training videos, with Daut you sometimes go 6-months between a submission and at other times he’ll blast out two or three high-quality training videos in the space of a single week!
Most of Daut’s videos now focus on PLO –CAP PLO to be even more precise—but on his blog he has been writing quite a bit about playing Rush Poker NLHE, so I would look for some of these videos to be in the works as well.
Daut currently has 20 videos in the Cardrunners Archive, ranging from Full Ring No Limit Holdem, to Sit & Go poker tournaments, to CAP PLO games, and even a series where Daut is coaching Party Poker’s Kara Scott as she works on her game. Even up and coming poker pros with sponsorship deals seek out Daut for training!
