The first thing many players noticed about the up-and-coming high stakes player at Full Tilt Poker was his witty take on another high-stakes regular’s screen-name; the one that belongs to Di “UrINdanger” Dang. But “URnotINdanger2” turned out to be much more than screen-name, and the man who would later reveal himself to be Scott Palmer, an anonymous 20 year-old Maryland resident, has gone on to become one of the most feared high-stakes regulars in poker.

Palmer went on a rollercoaster ride early in his poker career as we won and lost hundreds of thousands of dollars during his first foray into the nosebleed games. Since then he has been able to level off and find his groove, and is now a consistent winner at the Full Tilt Poker tables. Amazingly, Palmer was able to work his way up from the $.25/$.50 NLHE tables up to the $100/$200 limits in just a year and a half, and according to pokertableratings.com amassed a massive $1.6 million in winnings in his time at the mid-stakes poker tables.
With his ultra-aggressive style of play it’s not uncommon for Palmer to have hundred-thousand dollar swings at the poker tables, which makes him one of the high-stakes railbirds favorite players to follow. Palmer is also willing to tangle with just about any player heads-up, taking on the likes of ‘durrrr’ and other poker greats at the nosebleed tables.
Palmer was born in College Park, Maryland in July 1990, and according to his ‘random fact’ on the PokerNews Strategy website was homeschooled his entire life. Palmer is a long-time friend of another high-stakes poker phenom Daniel Cates, better known as jungleman12 in the online poker world, and the two are known to share a lot of strategic and theoretical insights with each other. Only 20 years old at the time of writing, Palmer has yet to make his presence felt on the live poker scene, and has only a handful of live tournament cashes to his credit –all outside of the US of course! Palmer did make a deep run in the EPT London Main Event before eventually bowing out in 31st place. The nearly $30,000 in prize-money marks his largest cash to date.
Palmer’s success caught the eye of poker pro Tony G who was quick to sign the burgeoning star to a contract to become an instructor at PokerNews Strategy. Palmer has created two video series for PokerNews Strategy up to this point; one of which is a session of heads-up $1/$2 NLHE, while the other is 6-Max $3/$6 PLO game.
Palmer joins an impressive collection of poker talent on the PokerNews Strategy roster which now includes: Multi-tabling maestro Randy ‘nanonoko’ Lew, 2010 WSOP bracelet winner Josh ‘LitleBastrd’ Tieman, PLO specialist Kane ‘Nascar_1949’ Kalas, Tony G himself, mind-coach Jamie Glazier, and Lock Poker pros Eric ‘Rizen’ Lynch, Matt ‘All in at 420’ Stout, and Billy ‘durangodan35’ Kopp.
