Grinder School Overview

GrinderSchool is one of the poker training sites that was designed to help the new or struggling low-limit poker player improve their play: After all, you have to crawl before you can walk! The site’s main focus is low-limit No Limit Hold’ Em (NLHE) games –cash, Sit & Go tournaments, and Multi-Table Tournaments and it is priced to accommodate these particular players (about 1/3 the price of the mid to high stakes training sites).

The main areas for players to learn are the video, article, and forum sections. With over 1200 streaming video, also available for download (6 new videos are added to the GrinderSchool library every week), and plenty of reading material, GrinderSchool keeps their new members busy pouring over content.

Grinder School Forums

The Grinder School forums are pretty simplified but also manage to include all the essential sections. With over 3000 members, the forums are very active and convey an excellent sense of community, as well as being an excellent place to discuss hands and other poker strategy with other poker players.

Written Content

In addition to its video area, GrinderSchool features an articles section on different aspects of poker. Some of the articles are additional thoughts on the strategies they outline in their videos, but some contain points that cannot be expressed in a video, such as bankroll management, thoughts on multi-tabling, and tilt. Like most training sites, GrinderSchool also offers its members exclusive access to their forum and blog section.

Grinder School Special Offers

GrinderSchool runs a special tournament series exclusively for its members. The GTS is a series of private freeroll tournaments (usually held at Poker Stars or Full Tilt) where players earn points toward the Player of the Year award. The series culminates in a $10 tournament with money added. In the GTS, the Grinder School members play both cash games and tournaments against other members and instructors on the site, with video analysis of the games afterwards.

GrinderSchool also offers potential customers five free videos to watch on their website to give an insight into the content produced by the site’s instructors.

Each week Grinderschool releases a new podcast featuring solid poker strategy and interviews aimed at small stakes players. This podcast is available for free and may be downloaded either on their homepage or on iTunes.

Expected Value: Is Grinder School Worth It?

Grinder School is a perfect training site for small stakes players, with a pricing structure suitable for players with smaller bankrolls. We would highly recommend this site for micro stakes players or for players who cannot afford a subscription to one of the more expensive poker training websites.
